So our journalism teacher made us write a short story so here is what I came up with, Hope you enjoy.
Shifting her glance to the side of the chair she noticed a small green suitcase. In her head she though he’s really going to leave. This really bothered Alice. She couldn’t believe that Robbie would leave their vacation just because they got into a fight last night. Alice started to cry at the thought of her love leaving her in Dublin, Ireland, because of one silly little fight that they got into last night. Alice couldn’t take it anymore. She said to herself, “I've got to go get some fresh air and find Robbie, maybe we can work things out.” So Alice left the room on a mission to go find her boyfriend. Just 30 minutes later Robbie walks into the room and sees the small green suitcase. He says to himself, “Is Alice really going to leave? Just because of last night?” Robbie’s scared he really screwed up this time. He just couldn't believe that Alice would want to leave this early into their vacation. She was the one who really wanted to go here. He went over to his suitcase, and he pulled out a small velvet box and opened it up. Inside was a big diamond ring. He was planing on proposing to Alice tonight. He heard the door open and he thought it was Alice so he hurried up and put the box back in his suitcase. Than ran up to the door to give her a hug and a kiss and to apologize and say he was sorry and that he never wanted to fight again and that he loved to so much, but when he got to the door it wasn’t Alice at the door. It was some man that he didn’t know. Robbie asked who he was and all the mysterious man said was, “ I’m your worst nightmare!” Then the man pulled out a knife.
Three hours later Alice thought she should go back to the suite because maybe Robbie was there. When she got up to the room she opened up the door and she couldn’t believe her eyes. There was blood everywhere. She was in complete and total shock. She followed the trail of blood to the bathroom. There lied Robbie in the bathtub completely soaked in blood. She lost it, and fell to her knees. She was bawling when she finally got enough strength to go up to Robbie. When she got there she knew he wasn’t breathing, but she just had to check again. She didn’t know what to do. There was Robbie, the man she loved and one day hoped to call her husband, in her arms dead. She bawling hysterically. She went to the telephone and called 9-1-1. She told them that she was in room 408 and the Dolphin Tale Inn, and that her boyfriend had been murdered. Fifteen minutes later the cops and paramedics show up to her room. She opened the door and they asked where the body was. She said he was in the bathtub. The paramedics went into the bathroom. When the paramedics where gone the cops asked her a bunch of questions and then took her to the police station.
When Alice got to the police station they took her into the interrogation room and asked her what happened. Alice told them everything she knew. They told her that they have Colbey, Robbie’s best friend, on his way to Ireland, and that she wouldn’t be able to leave this country until they figured out who killed her boyfriend. Alice asked them if she could have his belongings. They said that she could because they where done gathering evidence. She went up to his suitcase she saw the small velvet box, opened it up and saw the ring inside. She started crying. She knew what that ring was intended for. She put the box in her purse, and waited for Colbey to show up. The next day she went with the police to the airport to pick up Colbey. Three months later they found out that the killer was a guy named Jacob, and that he was a serial killer in Dublin. Colbey and Alice finally got to go home. When they got back to Boston Alice went to Robbie’s parents house and gave them all of his belongings, even the ring. They protested that she should keep the ring, but she thought that she just wouldn’t be able to do that. Three years later Colbey and Alice started dating than got married. They had a baby boy named Robbie Dean Gilligan. In honor of Colbey’s best friend and Alice’s previous lover.
